What is the Aryatara Institut?
The Aryatara Institute is a Munich-based non-profit association that wants to make the teachings of Buddha accessible to everyone.
We offer an extensive program with about 300 events per year. There is an introductory “Discover Buddhism” course and an advanced “Basic Program”. It is also possible to follow the programs by distance learning.
Preserving the Tradition of Mahayana Buddhism
The Aryatara Institute follows the tradition of the Gelug School of Tibetan Buddhism and is the Munich center of the FPMT – the “Society for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition”. This network of Buddhist centers has set itself the task of making the tradition of Mahayana and its values accessible worldwide.
Besides the resident teacher, Venerable Fedor Stracke, teachers associated with the FPMT visit the Aryatara Institute. This helps to teach the Dharma in many ways according to the different capacities of the students.
For over 30 years we are imparting the methods of Buddhist philosophy taught by our teachers. We follow the teachings, perspectives and instructions of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. He represents an unbiased attitude towards all teachings and schools of Buddhism. This open-minded attitude has found its way into many Tibetan schools.
